
Mr A. Vogklis graduated from the Captains Merchant Marine Academy of Aspropyrgos Greece in 1997 as a marine engineer officer, continued his studies in University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK as a Naval Architect and Marine Engineer (Beng) and finally awarded an MSc in Engineering Business Management from Warwick Manufacturing Group of Warwick University, UK in 2001.
He started his career with Andriaki Shipping Co working as a cadet and an engineer officer on-board their tanker vessels and also participating in scheduled dry dockings as an assistant superintended engineer.
He later joined International Shipping Bureau (ISB) subsidiary and exclusive surveyors of International Register of Shipping (IRS). He acted as Head of registration, crewing and technical departments of I.S.B Piraeus branch office performing also on-board ship surveys, vessel and company ISM-ISP audits, H&M, P&I surveys, pre-purchase and damage surveys on worldwide coverage.
Mr Vogklis has been directly involved in a number of New building projects as an owner supervisor, external consultant, Site manager and owner representative in projects located in China and S.Korea shipyards. He has been utilized in specification and plan review and implementation in New building as well as conversion and repair projects. Finally he has also carried out numerous repairs on behalf of various ship-owners in Major European, Middle Eastern, African and Far East ship repair yards.
During his career he has participated in various Flag state, Class & statutory, Shipbuilding & Ship Repair professional development training courses as well as accredited ISM, ISPS and ISO auditor by classification societies such as Lloyds Register, Germanischer Lloyds, American Bureau of Shipping & Det Norske Veritas.
Permanently stationed in China since 2008 Mr Vogklis is in charge of Newbuildings Project Management.
